We are seeking a Business Commercial Counsel to join our team in Chiyoda, Tokyo.Why This Role? This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of law, business, and cutting-edge technology. You will not simply mitigate risk; you will actively support the "Customer Account Management" (CAM) groups and Strategic Business Units (SBU) driving the future of in-vehicle infotainment and safety.Global Impact: You will report directly to legal leadership in North America, working on significant matters that impact our global enterprise.Autonomy: We are looking for a leader who can handle complex negotiations and critical assignments with autonomy.Innovation: You will work with engineering and product teams on next-gen technologies, including ADAS, in-cabin user experience, and connectivity.What You Will Do As a core member of our division, you will manage legal and business risk across Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain functions.Strategic Deal Making: Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, licensing, and professional services contracts with major automotive OEMs.Compliance & Regulatory: Guide the business on RFQ processes, data privacy (GDPR/CCPA), and safety standards (ISO 26262).Dispute Resolution: Manage commercial disputes, mediation, and oversee outside counsel regarding litigation.Cross-Functional Leadership: Identify legal issues in product initiatives and conduct training for managers and employees.Who We Are Looking For We are looking for a highly capable legal professional with a Juris Doctor (or equivalent) and Bar admission.Experience: 8+ years of relevant in-house or law firm experience.Language Skills: Native/High-Fluent Japanese and Business English are essential to interface with local stakeholders and global leadership.Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of automotive electronics, contract lifecycle management, and global supply chain issues.Soft Skills: You are task-focused, possess strong analytic skills, and can communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal business clients diplomatically.What We Offer We believe in empowering our people to live the career they want.Flexible Work: We offer a flexible schedule with remote work options (willingness to work occasionally in the Tokyo office is required).Culture: An inclusive, multi-disciplinary environment that celebrates uniqueness and encourages professional development through our internal business academies.Perks: Employee discounts on our world-class audio products and a competitive rewards program.Next Steps If you are ready to innovate and do work that makes a lasting impact in the automotive world, we want to hear from you.
